One of my favourite and most popular quilts - 'Circus Tops'. This is a fantastic introduction to the 'foundation piecing' technique which is my favourate method of piecing quilts. It is fantastic for using up scraps and also a great project for learning about pairing colours and prints.
We will aim to make 4 blocks during the workshop. This is enough to make a cushion top or a bag front. It is also teaches you all you need to know to get started making the whole quilt if that is what you want to do.
You can bring materials with you or grab a scrap bag from the shop on the day. You will need 8 different prints as a minimum but you can see from the pictures, you can put your blocks together with more or less fabrics if you chose to.
This is beginner friendly but you will need to know how to use a sewing machine. Knowledge of a rotary cutter will also help.
The price for the class includes:
- use of a sewing machine and any other tools and thread needed
- as many foundation paper pattern pieces you use during the class
- a copy of the pattern to take a way
Classes are limited to 4 people so I can give plenty of support to each student.
